As markets matured, users and institutions alike demanded more passive products. Looking at the field, onchain yield and asset management markets were replete with inflationary rewards that mislead users about yield or simply reported them inconsistent with preexisting professional standards.

High quality collateral

Kaltra maintains that high quality collateral is the building block for yield. USDC, ETH, BTC are widely available and LPs are looking to deploy these assets preferentially.

A depositor entrusting a manager to implement a strategy would like to be on a platform that ensures the manager is staying within their stated investment mandate and is unable to remove funds from the platform.
